After almost a quarter of a century of service to helping setters in need, Karen Pare, our secretary, has resigned.

We would like to sincerely express our gratitude and deep appreciation of Karen’s total commitment and wholehearted dedication to the care and welfare of Irish Setters over the past 23 years during which time she has been a volunteer, committee member, assistant secretary and, since 2019, Secretary of Irish setter rescue and rehome

The number of Irish Setters coming into the scheme in need of help on an annual basis may have fallen but the task of rescuing and rehoming each one of them has become extremely more demanding, costly and complex

Karen has ensured that R&R always met these growing demands and kept the dog in need of help at the forefront of her mind. She has personally raised substantial funding to support continuing costs, an outstanding example being the 104-mile Cotswold Way walk with her rescue dog Amber, when she raised £4500.

Thank you Karen for all your hard work, We all hope you enjoy your well earned retirement from rescue. You will be missed!

Thank you

Julia
