History
The Irish Setter Breeders Club (ISBC) began its rescue operation in 1970 and a rescue fund was set up to support unwanted Irish Setters until suitable homes could be found. In 2017 the scheme transferred to The Irish Red Setter Rescue Charitable Trust (IRSRCT) and became known as Irish Setter Rescue and Rehome (ISRANDR).
The trustees and Irish Setter Rescue and Rehome committee work very closely together, maintaining their strong connection with ISBC.
A comprehensive history of Rescue is in the process of being written. This will include all major changes over time & details about people who helped support & grow the Rescue over the last 50 years.
